GENIE is a simple-to-use online resource designed to help users design, modify, or compare effective nutrition education programs. For years researchers have attempted to identify what elements of nutrition education lead to successful outcomes. These findings are incredibly valuable, but can be difficult for practitioners to synthesize and translate into effective programs.
GENIE was designed to meet this need by providing an evidence-based checklist of nutrition education program quality indicators. GENIE’s checklist of quality criteria has been rigorously validated and is based on reliable scientific evidence. Complete with definitions, resource links, and training materials GENIE is designed with tools to help program planners be successful regardless of whether they have professional training or experience in nutrition education. The tool may also be useful to funding agencies in developing Requests for Proposals.
