Chair

Eileen Myers has served in many leadership roles throughout her career including Vice President, Retail Dietetics & Nutrition Solutions as well as Vice President, Affiliations and Patient-Centered Strategies for The Little Clinic, a Kroger Co retail healthcare company. She is currently adjunct faculty for The University of North Florida Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the Pennsylvania State University and her Master’s in Public Health from the University of North Carolina.


Ellen Shanley, MBA, RDN, CDN, FANDEllen Shanley, MBA, RDN, CDN, FAND

Chair-Elect

Ellen Shanley is the Director in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Connecticut’s College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources. She served as President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics from 2022 to 2023. She holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, completed her dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and earned an MBA from Babson College.

Past-Chair

Cathy Christie is Associate Dean and Professor Emeritus (retired) in the Brooks College of Health at the University of North Florida, where she was named the university’s Distinguished Professor in 2017. She served two terms on the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Board of Directors. She is a graduate of Florida State University, where she also earned a master’s degree and doctorate in nutrition and dietetics.


Kay Wolf, PhD, RDN, LD, FANDKay Wolf, PhD, RDN LD, FAND

Secretary

Kay Wolf is a consultant in higher education and an emeritus professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, College of Medicine, The Ohio State University. Previously, she served as Ohio State’s Senior Vice Provost from 2019 to 2024. She earned her bachelor’s in medical dietetics, master’s in food service management and nutrition, and a PhD in human resource development from The Ohio State University.

Academy President-Elect

Young Hee Kim most recently worked as a clinical nutrition manager from 2012 to 2023 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. She received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana State University.

Treasurer

Shey Schnell is the regional director of performance improvement at the University of Vermont Health Network, CVPH and AHMC. He is a graduate of State University of New York at Plattsburgh and earned his master's degree and graduate certificate of leadership from Champlain College.


Christine M. Palumbo, MBA, RDN, FANDChristine M. Palumbo, MBA, RDN, FAND

Director

Christine Palumbo is an award-winning registered dietitian nutritionist. Her entrepreneurial career has included freelance writing, corporate wellness, and nutrient analysis, and she served as an adjunct professor at Benedictine University for 23 years She is a graduate of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota and earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from DePaul University.

Director

Krystal Register is Vice President of Health and Well-being at FMI - The Food Industry Association. She is responsible for overall leadership, strategic planning, and execution of nutrition, health, and well-being activities and initiatives at FMI. She serves as the lead coordinator and subject-matter expert for nutrition policy, programs, operations, and communication issues across the food industry for FMI members, industry partners, and community collaborators. Krystal earned degrees from the College of William and Mary and James Madison University.

Director

Mary Russell is a university lecturer/adjunct assistant clinical professor with a varied career in clinical nutrition, leadership, and education. Prior to her retirement, she served as a Medical Science Liaison for a Fortune 500 company and was Director of Nutrition Services at two nationally ranked academic medical centers. She served as President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics from 2018 to 2019. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Marquette University and a Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Alyssa Frisby, MS, RDN, LDAlyssa Frisby, MS, RDN, LD

Director in practice 5 years or less

Alyssa Frisby is an instructor and senior brand and project manager for UAMS Culinary Medicine, where she blends her communications background, nutrition expertise, and advanced culinary training to make evidence-based culinary nutrition education accessible across campus and in the community. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mass media communications from the College of Charleston and completed her post-baccalaureate and master’s degree in nutrition at the University of Central Arkansas.


Erin FitzgeraldErin Fitzgerald

Public Member

Erin Fitzgerald is a visionary sustainability leader transforming food systems and business models. Through Fitzgerald Consulting, she advises Moonflare, Soho Capital Fund, Strategus, and AgTech PR on sustainable strategies and partnerships. As former CEO of U.S. Farmers & Ranchers in Action, she revitalized the organization, launched the first sector ESG report, and secured 160 C-Suite endorsements for the Decade of Ag Vision. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

Wylecia Wiggs Harris has oversight of all entities in the Academy Enterprise, including the Association, the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Academy Foundation. A graduate of Wittenberg University, she earned a master of management degree in marketing, health services management and business policy from Northwestern University and a doctorate in organizational management and leadership from Capella University.
