Chair

Cathy Christie is Associate Dean and Professor Emerita in the Brooks College of Health at the University of North Florida, where she was named the university’s Distinguished Professor in 2017. She is a graduate of Florida State University, where she also earned a master’s degree and doctorate in nutrition and dietetics.

Chair-Elect

Eileen Myers has served in many leadership roles throughout her career including Vice President, Retail Dietetics & Nutrition Solutions as well as Vice President, Affiliations and Patient-Centered Strategies for The Little Clinic, a Kroger Co retail healthcare company. She is currently adjunct faculty for The University of North Florida Nutrition department. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the Pennsylvania State University and her master’s in public health from the University of North Carolina.

Past-Chair

Marcia Kyle provides nutrition counseling via telehealth for the diabetes management and nutrition programs at Eastport Health Care (EHC), a Federally Qualified Health Center in rural Maine, as well as nutrition education for Penobscot Bay YMCA and EHC distance Diabetes Prevention Programs. Prior to this role, she served as Maine Health’s Regional Director of Nutrition and Diabetes Services, where she coordinated the Centers of Disease Control Pen Bay Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program, and Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

Secretary

Linda Gigliotti is the former Director of the Weight Management Program at the University of CA, Irvine. She holds a master’s degree in nutrition education from the University of Delaware.

Academy President-Elect

Tamara Randall is an instructor and director of the MS in Public Health Nutrition and Dietetic Internship Program at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Case Western Reserve University.

Treasurer

Christina Rollins is the Finance Administrator in the Department of Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and owner of Rollins Nutrition, LLC. She is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and earned a master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois.

Director

Dorothy Chen-Maynard is a Professor in the Department of Health Science and Human Ecology at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) and the Director of CSUSB’s Didactic Program in Dietetics. She received her Bachelor of Science from University of Southern California, earned a master’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles, and earned her PhD in Nutritional Science and Metabolism from University of California, Davis.

Director

Manju Karkare is President and CEO of Nutritionally Yours LLC, a private practice providing individualized integrative and functional nutrition counseling for prevention and wellness, weight management and gut health as well as corporate wellness culinary demos. She is a graduate of SNDT University, Pune, India and she earned her Master of Science in Nutrition from University of Kentucky.

Director

Aida Miles is associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in the Division of Adolescent Medicine and the director of the UAB Leadership Education in Pediatric Nutrition Program. She received her bachelor’s degree from Whittier College, her masters from Emory University, and her Doctor of Education from Bethel University.


Ellen Shanley, RDN, CDN, FANDEllen Shanley, RDN, CDN, FAND

Director

Ellen Shanley is the Dietetics Director in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Connecticut’s College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources. She served as President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics from 2022 to 2023. She holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, completed her dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and earned an MBA from Babson College.


Kay Wolf, PhD, RDN, LD, FANDKay Wolf, PhD, RDN, LD, FAND

Director

Kay Wolf is a consultant in higher education and an emeritus professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, College of Medicine, The Ohio State University. Previously she served as Ohio State’s senior vice provost from 2019 to 2024. She earned her BS in medical dietetics, an MS in food service management and nutrition and a PhD in human resource development from The Ohio State University.

Alyssa Frisby is an instructor and senior brand and project manager for the Culinary Medicine program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mass media communications from the College of Charleston before completing a post-baccalaureate and master’s degree in nutrition at the University of Central Arkansas.


Erin FitzgeraldErin Fitzgerald

Public Member

Erin Fitzgerald is a thought leader in sustainability where she has built the case for agriculture as the solution for the environment based on science and business models. She has been at the forefront of working and understanding how to build collaborative relationships in the sustainability, climate change, and agriculture industries. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

Wylecia Wiggs Harris has oversight of all entities in the Academy Enterprise, including the Association, the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Academy Foundation. A graduate of Wittenberg University, she earned a master of management degree in marketing, health services management and business policy from Northwestern University and a doctorate in organizational management and leadership from Capella University.
