Having just returned from FNCE® and celebrating the Academy’s 100-year anniversary, it’s hard not to feel exhilarated as well as proud – proud to be in our profession, to be an Academy member, and to be a Foundation donor. FNCE® 2017 attendees stepped up in a big way for the Foundation.
Our Monday evening Fun-raiser (formerly referred to as the Gala) had the largest attendance ever, the silent auction was the most successful in history, and our Foundation booth at FNCE® took in over $35,000, which included donations given as FNCE® attendees made purchases at the Academy bookstore. Of that $35,000, $13,000 was designated for the Second Century campaign.
We increased awareness of the Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund, which has special significance as we know there were dozens of FNCE® attendees from affected areas like Puerto Rico. We also informed attendees of the nearly half-million dollars in scholarships and grants that the Foundation gave out this past year.
We sincerely appreciate those of you who donated $100 or more during FNCE® registration to assist students who attended FNCE®, as well as many of you who purchased Fun-raiser tickets and then gave them to students so they could enjoy the evening. That’s what the Foundation and its donors are all about – giving back to help our students and ensure that our future is a bright one. Thanks to all of you who have given so generously.
