The Academy Foundation challenged all Academy Affiliates this year to give a gift to the Second Century Campaign from either their budget or reserves while encouraging their members to give as well. The affiliate with the highest average gift total based on membership this year has won a $1,000 scholarship in their name. Volunteers within each affiliate, including Fundraising Champions and Second Century Liaisons, promoted the Academy’s Second Century efforts to create awareness and raise funds for the Campaign.
The Academy Foundation would like to congratulate the Hawaii affiliate for winning the Affiliate Challenge and coming in at a $206-per-member average gift to the Second Century Campaign.
The Academy Foundation challenged all Academy DPG/MIGs as well, requesting a gift for the Second Century Campaign from their reserves. The Academy Foundation would like to congratulate the Dietetics in Health Care Communities for winning this Challenge with the highest average gift per member and also winning a $1,000 scholarship in their name.
The Academy Foundation is conducting a Second Century Campaign in honor of the Academy’s 100-year anniversary that will build on the Foundation’s success supporting dietetics professionals locally and nationally, through scholarships, research grants and awards and community education — accelerating these efforts and providing additional opportunities on the global stage. Priority will be given to programs and initiatives that demonstrate significant impact in three key areas: Prevention and Wellness, Health Care and Health Systems, & Food and Nutrition Security.
The Academy Foundation would like to thank all the Affiliates, DPGs, MIGs, Volunteer Leadership, Affiliate Fundraising Champions and Second Century Liaisons who have contributed and participated in the Academy Foundation’s Second Century Campaign Challenge.
Academy Affiliates, DPGs and MIGs are still able to donate to the Second Century Campaign at any time and will be recognized on the Second Century webpage and with signage at the 2017 FNCE®.
