RDNs celebrate National Nutrition Month from Coast to Coast!

Aurora Buffington, MS, RDN, LD (Nevada)

Here is a photo of LaShuna Proctor, one of our Community Based Instructors, at a Las Vegas area Walmart for National Nutrition Month. University of Nevada Cooperative Extension shared how to “Put Your Best Fork Forward” with informational handouts and recipes at a neighborhood Walmart store and at a school community event. Even Ms. Tomato got into the fun!

Trina Robertson, MS, RDN (California)

Dairy Council of California’s Trina Robertson volunteered at a local school’s health fair for National Nutrition Month®. The Orange County, Calif. high school students converted the healthy eating and physical activity lessons in Eat Move Win into fun activities and information booths. The “Shape Up” health fair included a personalized MyPlate bracelet station, Breakfast and Sleep exhibit, ReThink Your Drink station and even a five-food-group photo booth — to promote good nutrition and share the learning.

Julie Stefanski, RD (Pennsylvania)

Registered Dietitian, Julie Stefanski, with Leg Up Farm, Mt. Wolf, Penn. visited Able-Services, a day program for adults with special needs for National Nutrition Month. Able-Services participants did a great job guessing how many teaspoons of sugar are in popular drink choices. They took turns measuring how much sugar they consume. Everyone agreed that water is the best drink to keep us healthy!
